What Clients Say

Brad Edwards has been our greatest blessing. He does it all, and knows it all — everything communication.

Stacey Wahlberg
Founder, Cal's Angels

Simply put, Brad's story launched what is now our international nonprofit. He's one of the rare ones: he gets it.

Bob Shea
Founder, Devices for the Disabled

Due to Brad's efforts and connections, our single story pitch reached a potential audience of over 159 million people across various media channels. He also secured a massive Instagram influencer placement that surpassed 1,200,000 views and counting. This was by far the best media investment we have ever made.

How We Work
01
The Investigation
Before we write a word, we audit what you already have — every platform, every partner, every placement. We find what's working, what's invisible, and what leaves you exposed. Then we build the plan.
02
Earned Media & Owned Media
We're experts at placement. And we're experts at creation. When it's the second one, stations get the story shot, cut and ready to air instead of a camera crew — and most just run it. One taping day becomes a month of publishing, and everything we shoot is yours to keep and reuse. Excellent writing reaches almost no one; distribution is the job.
03
Media & Presentation Training
We put your people through it first — before the reporter does, before the panel, before the podcast, before the earnings call. On-camera presence, message discipline, and the questions they hope nobody asks, rehearsed with the person who used to ask them.
04
Copy & Craft
Keynote speeches. Annual reports. Monthly newsletters. Design work. The pieces that carry your name and usually get handed to whoever has time — written and built by the people who made a career out of getting them right.
Case Study
Cal's Angels · Childhood Cancer

Be the 96%

"Be the 96%" — a slogan built around a number that stopped people cold.

When we took over communications for Cal's Angels, we identified donor fatigue almost immediately. The messaging was broad. The ask was vague. The urgency wasn't landing.

We dug into the data and found the stat that changed everything: only 4% of federal cancer funding goes toward childhood cancers — leaving a 96% gap that most people had never heard about. We identified, curated, and built an entire campaign around that number. "Be the 96%" gave donors a specific injustice to fight and a clear reason to act.

This is what happens when the story is told right.

The Team
Brad Edwards, Chief Storyteller
Brad Edwards
Chief Storyteller
In 2024, Brad Edwards launched BE Media — now a thriving, multiple-client communications firm. Before BE Media, there was a career that turned heads from Chicago to the nation's capital. Between 2019 and 2021, Brad pulled off what few journalists ever do: serving simultaneously as main anchor and investigative reporter at CBS Chicago. In three years, he collected 11 Chicago/Midwest Emmy Awards — including consecutive wins for Getting Hosed, his nationally heralded exposé on bad water billing that changed policy and rattled power. He also won the highest honor in broadcast writing: the National Edward R. Murrow Award. Across a journalism career spanning decades, Brad won 30 Emmy Awards — a body of work that freed the wrongly convicted and led to the passage of multiple pieces of legislation. Edwards knows how to win. He didn't have all the best stories, but he always told the best stories — hence: the best told story wins.
Kara Elizondo, Creative Director
Kara Elizondo
Creative Director
A multiple Emmy Award winner, Kara has shaped media at every level — from scrappy startups to the biggest names in broadcast. She launched CBS Chicago's digital streaming network and served as senior producer on the Edward R. Murrow Award-winning true crime docuseries PainKiller: The Tylenol Murders. A versatile and deeply experienced media strategist, Kara crafts digital experiences, produces and edits compelling video, books top-tier talent, and conducts in-depth investigations that get results. Her career spans the full media landscape — field producer for Univision's Jorge Ramos, launching Real America for Facebook Watch, and producing at NBC's 30 Rock for Morning Joe. At BE Media, Kara is the creative engine — the force that takes a strategy and makes it impossible to look away from.
